Press Release
PacTerm/SC and PkTerm/SC to support domestic interfaces only
Soundcard only version will support Timewave, MFJ, West Mountain Radio, and Tigertronics interfaces.
Muscle Shoals, Alabama. April 5, 2004:
W4PCSoftware announced that the soundcard only
version 3.0 of PacTerm/SC for Windows and PkTerm/SC for Windows will only
include support for domestic soundcard interfaces. This includes the
Timewave Hamhub, the MFJ 127X interfaces, the Rigblaster line and the
Signalink products.
Company President Rick Ruhl, W4PC, said "With all the outsourcing going
on in American business today and the loss of those jobs, someone has to
take a position to support 'Made in the USA' products. Too much software
and hardware is outsourced today, and hams should be the first to support
domestic companies in their efforts to provide good products at a fair
price".
Version 3.0 not only includes new soundcard modes, but also an integrated
logging program to keep track of QSO's, DXCC
and even do light contesting. It will support exporting to ADIF for use
with the ARRL Logbook of the World and to
other logging programs, provide radio and rotor control, and be able to
sync with Packet Clusters that are connected by the Packet window.
A new user interface has been designed that keeps all windows in one main
frame window. HF modes still can be accessed with a click of a mouse, but
now the window has the addition of using a drop down menu to choose the
soundcard modes.
Anyone can purchase release 1.7 today and receive a free upgrade to
version 3.0. PacTerm and PkTerm for Windows release 1.7 is $79.95 and the
upgrade from version 1.4 or earlier is $29.95. The retail price for Version
3.0 will be $99.95 and upgrades from version 1.4 or earlier will be $59.95
