CSS helps Shoals Chamber of Commerce become one of the first WiFi Hotspots in the area
HotSpot will allow guests and visitors at Chamber to access the internet with their wireless laptops and PDAs
Muscle Shoals, Alabama. July 16, 2004:
Creative Services Software announced today that they have partnered up
with the Shoals Chamber of Commerce to create one of the first WiFi
Hotspots in the Shoals.
Using the 'WiFi in a box' concept, visitors to the Shoals Chamber of
Commerce will only need to turn on their wireless laptop in the building, to
have full access to the internet, their email and other internet resources.
WiFi Hotspots are showing up at Hotels, bookstores, coffee shops, trucks
stops, waiting rooms and other places nationwide. The Shoals area has a few
WiFi hotspots with the Chamber of Commerce being a resource in the downtown
area.
"We're excited to be able to offer this technology to our members." Says
Steve Holt, President of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.
CSS President Rick Ruhl said, "The Chamber has always been instrumental
in helping businesses be on the leading edge of technology. We should see
this area become more and more wireless based and more hotspots being
installed, and that will help the area grow".
CSS has been involved with wireless data since 1988, starting with lower
speed packet based networks and now into the 802.11 a,b and g technologies.
"It's very straightforward to set up an WiFi Hotspot in this day and
time, and CSS will be there to help businesses in the Shoals and beyond get
'connected'', added Ruhl.
