and Florence, Alabama. October 15, 1997: Kantronics and
Creative Services Software announce a preview version
PacTerm 98, the new 32 bit Windows terminal program
for the Kantronics TNCs that will be available for
purchase November 3, 1997. This new program takes
advantage of the new features in Windows 95 and Windows
NT and integrates these features with the 'Host Mode' of
the Kantronics wireless modems (TNCs). From November 3rd, 1997 to February 1, 1998 an introductory price of $49.95 will be offered to the amateur radio community. Purchase can be made through Kantronics. The program also offers a demo mode of which, while limited in functionality, will be free. Demo mode for packet only will allow single port, multi stream operation for the Kantronics TNC line. Purchase of the full featured-preview version will include a free upgrade to the release version and all updates up to version 2.0; hence users need not have to worry about upgrade costs and fixes with a version 1.x product.
