PacTerm ’98 for Windows 95, Windows 98
and Windows NT Terminal Program Preview
to be released

New 32 bit Windows program will be available in November, 1997

Lawerence , Kansas and Florence, Alabama. October 15, 1997: Kantronics and Creative Services Software announce a preview version PacTerm ’98, the new 32 bit Windows terminal program for the Kantronics™ TNCs that will be available for purchase November 3, 1997. This new program takes advantage of the new features in Windows 95 and Windows NT and integrates these features with the 'Host Mode' of the Kantronics wireless modems (TNCs).

PacTerm 98 will require Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT with 8 MB of RAM and 6 MB of free hard drive space. The program supports Com1 through Com 4 and has 'point and click' commands for the VHF or HF modes that the Kantronics TNCs support. The program is written in robust C++, using the Microsoft Foundation Class Library.

From November 3rd, 1997 to February 1, 1998 an introductory price of $49.95 will be offered to the amateur radio community. Purchase can be made through Kantronics. The program also offers a demo mode of which, while limited in functionality, will be free. Demo mode for packet only will allow single port, multi stream operation for the Kantronics TNC line. Purchase of the full featured-preview version will include a free upgrade to the release version and all updates up to version 2.0; hence users need not have to worry about upgrade costs and fixes with a version 1.x product.

The program will be available for downloading from the web at two addresses. http://www.cssincorp.com/pacterm and http://www.kantronics.com.
