PKTerm 99 for Windows 95, Windows 98 and
Windows NT released!
New 32 bit Windows based TNC Terminal program
is available NOW!
St. Paul, Minnesota and Florence,
Alabama. December 4, 1998: Timewave and Creative Services Software
announce PKTerm 99, the new 32 bit Windows terminal program for the Timewave TNCs is now
available for Preview. This new program takes advantage of the new features in Windows
95/98 and Windows NT, and integrates these features with the 'Host Mode' of the Timewave
wireless modems (TNCs).
PKTerm 99 will require Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT with 8 meg
of ram and 6 megabytes of free hard drive space. The program supports Com1 through Com35
and has 'point and click' commands for the VHF or HF modes that the Timewave TNCs support.
The program is written in robust C++, using the Microsoft Foundation Class Library.
This preview version of PKTerm 99 has been in beta since August.
Purchasing the preview version will allow for an upgrade to the release version at no
additional charge.
A suggested retail price of $69.95 will be offered to the amateur radio
community for PKTerm 99. Purchase can be made through Timewave. The program also offers a
demo mode which, while limited in functionality, will be free. Demo mode for packet only
will allow single port, multi stream packet operation for the Timewave TNC line. Purchase
of the full featured version will include a free upgrade to all updates up to version 2.0;
hence users need not have to worry about upgrade costs and fixes with a version 1.x
product.
The program is now available for downloading from the web at two
addresses. http://www.cssincorp.com/PkTerm
and http://www.timewave.com .
